June 12, 2012 – Rob Kirk

With the emphasis on team play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, individual efforts are fewer and farther between than the regular season. That being said, there is still no shortage of spectacular individual efforts this postseason. Congratulations to the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, and congratulations to these ten players who helped make these playoffs memorable.

10. Ovechkin against the Bruins

9. James Neal beats two Flyers.

8. Marion Gaborik’s 3OT game winner beats the Capitals.

7. Anze Kopitar abuses Brian Elliott.

6. Elias undresses Theodore on the PP.

5. Giroux plants Crosby and scores on first shift.

4. David Backes scores on a one-timer after some handling by T.J. Oshie.

3. Dustin Penner redeems his awful season sending the Kings to the Finals.

2. Pavel Datsyuk shows why he has the best hands in the NHL. Thievery!

1. Jeff Carter puts a dagger into the Devils hearts.

So there you have it. You may have some different choices for your own top ten, but there’s no denying the talent on this list. Tune in same time tomorrow for The Puck Doctors season ending awards. Note: The NHL does not consult Rob Kirk directly when distributing their awards.
